Panel Member of Teacher Recruitment

The school continues to look for parents who are interested in being part of the teacher recruitment process. To do this you need to be nominated as a rep from the P&C and then receive training. If you are interested, please let the school know by e-mailing on the school email or contacting the P&C.

When a panel is formed it has the following structure at Murray Farm Public School.

Convenor
Usually the Principal or another executive member
Teacher Representative
Voted by the teachers
Non-English Speaking Background Representative
Nominated by the P&C
Parent Representation
Nominated by the P&C
And sometimes the NSW Department of Education adds a representative, usually when the position is an executive position. The NSW Department of Education representative is nominated by the Director of Education.
Positions being recruited soon include Assistant Principal, Classroom Teacher, Learning and Support, Library and Japanese positions. Once these positions have been completed the school will update parents through the newsletter.

Most panels need to Write/Approve the codes used to write the advertisement (if required). This can be done via zoom if needed. The panels usually run through the school day and are based on a volunteer basis.
Read the CVs
The CVs are given to you to read first and then the panel meets.
Interviews
Interview the first 2 referees, done as part of the culling.
Culling
Usually takes no more than 3 hours, but this depends on the number of applicants.
Interview successful applicants
Usually takes up to no more than 4 hours, but this depends on the number of applicants and as part of the interview day the panel rings the third referee, where required.
