The Murray Farm Public School string ensemble program is one of the many extra-curricular activities in the school. It is a manifestation of the spirit of Murray Farm Public School - the school and parents working closely together as one family for the benefit of the children.
If you are interested in this program, or have any queries, please contact our String Ensemble Coordinator Tina Kao via email.

Entry Criteria
The string ensemble program is open to all Murray Farm students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Those without any string instrument experience are to have individual lessons from their own private teachers, usually for half a year, before joining the minuet ensemble. The string ensemble program welcomes students from whatever training method they learn and from whatever private teacher they have. Parents have full discretion in the choice of their children's private teachers.
Once some string experience has been gained, the next prerequisite will be the willingness to commit to the program, including attendance at all rehearsals.
Progress to the next ensemble depends on a student's performance and other factors such as the number of students currently in that ensemble.
Ensemble Groups and In-take Periods
There is one intake of new members each year. Expressions of interest can be submitted from Week 2 to Week 5, Term 1, for three trial rehearsals that will fall in between Week 3 to Week 7.
